About

 Hello and welcome!
A little bit about me and my approach:
I live in Berkshire County, MA with my husband, and a small menagerie of petsI chose to pursue mental health as a meaningful career path in 2012 after recovering from thyroid cancer.  I have been working as a therapist since I graduated in 2015.

I got my Master's in Social Work through Springfield College, and began working at a community mental health agency that I had been interning for that same year.

The Social Work program I attended utilizes an Advanced Generalist practice model, emphasizing a biopsychosocial perspective, as well as strengths-based approach, celebrating clients' individuality, resilience, and self-determination.

In other words, when I work with you I consider the big picture - the connection between biology, psychology, social and environmental factors, as well as large scale societal issues that may affect you (poverty, disability, social stigma, discrimination, etc...) and how these affected your childhood development and daily life.

My goal is for you to be empowered, to recognize your own strengths and successes, to speak up for yourself, and to reach your personal goals for your life and happiness.  Some things you may learn in therapy include learning to reduce stress, recognize your own emotions, learn assertiveness skills, manage symptoms, and structure your life into something that works for you.

I use a person-centered, humanistic approach to allow you to process, heal, and grow in a way that works for you.

I enjoy working with a diverse group of adults with different kinds of struggles, but my primary focus is treating people with ADHD, Autism, and various kinds of trauma including childhood, complex, and religious trauma. I also have some experience working with Dissociative Identity Disorder. I work with people who have left high demand, high control groups and survivors of domestic violence. I work with people who have chronic illness, disability, or chronic pain. I work with people who are grieving. I work with people with alternative lifestyles, alternative spirituality, and LGBTQ+ folks.

I am COVID-19 and public health conscious and happy to make accommodations for people with suppressed immune systems.
